Poetry is the acrobatics of spoken language. Mixing meanings and messages to incite and excite.
I’ve had a concept plaguing my mind. I can’t get it out. The purpose of this blog is to release the pressure from my mind. Allow this monolithic thought to escape. To some, it will have no effect; to others, it will amuse. I hope that one person can appreciate it as much as I do.
Concepts are deeper than words. We use many smaller concepts to build larger ones. And larger concepts to build even more. Each thought is like a recipe. Each word an ingredient. Yet… to some, a dish brings delight, and others not so. Same ingredients, same recipe, different reception.
The idea has been grappled with before… does your blue and my blue look the same? Does an apple taste the same to you as it does me?
If the very ingredients we consume differ from me to you, how can we truly appreciate the same recipe in the same way? What is the purest form of an individual thought? A thought so pure that you and I, upon hearing it, could think, feel, and hear the very same thing.
The key… is context. The key… is shared experience. If you and I attach the same context to a single thought, we have a pure thought. A shared emotion so identical that our hearts beat as one.
How do we arrive at this context? Through a journey. I’ve penned my thoughts, and as long as my synapses keep firing, I hope to keep penning. My thoughts have been just that. My thoughts. Now I wish to explore them with any fellow travelers on the journey of life. Share the context with me.
The goal is for me to be able to share the purest thought.
The goal is for a single word, just one, for you and me to mean the same. To be the same. To cause our hearts to beat as one.
In this journey, I hope to explore the many concepts for context. Not all will agree, not all will see. But hopefully… hopefully, some will continue on this journey. The journey of poetry.
